BEGINNER WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS
Designed for complete beginners who want to learn how to get the most from their photographs by shooting in manual using natural light. Morning session covers basic technical photography theory with a emphasis on exposure and focus. Afternoon session covers further photography theory including composition, white balance and the power of shooting in RAW vs JPEG. Participants will have the opportunity to see international wedding photographer Maigan Cowen edit several images from start to finish. Following the afternoon session, participants will head outdoors to watch Maigan shoot to develop a better understanding of how to illuminate and pose subjects, and how to coach clients through a session. Participants will then have the opportunity to apply skills in a hands-on-learning environment with constructive feedback and coaching. Workshop notes and numerous resources will be made available to participants. Must have own DSLR or mirrorless camera, at least one lens, a fully charged battery and at least 32 GB of memory. This is a great opportunity for those who have always wanted to learn how to use their camera or have dreamed of running their own photography business someday! Workshop is geared towards portraiture but the basics taught in this course is the foundation for all forms of photography.
Cheers to learning something new!
Love & Light,
